Starting Over

It seems that my blog met an untimely end.  That is alright – we will start over! I will repost some off the old material and add new as we go along.

Since I’m starting over I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce the “cast of characters.”

Charlie:  He has lived in my house the longest. It has been 10 years this week! He is a blind beagle that came to live with me as a very young pup.

Jade: 3 year old Portuguese Water Dog.  Jade is a sweetheart and makes sure that Charlie is safe in the world.

There are other dogs that have been an an active part of my life, home, and heart over the years.  I am thankful for the time they were  a part of my life even though the time was too short.  They were all fantastic friends and wonderful teachers.

Meet Abby, my first Portuguese Water Dog.  Abby had an improper coat so she looked  a lot like a flat coated retriever.  Abby did a great job of taking  care of Charlie.

Sophie… our Dalmatian.  She was an amazing girl.  One of the veterinarian technicians left the practice for a while and when he returned he asked about Sophie and Daisy (she is up next).  He told me that it was good that Sophie wasn’t the first Dalmatian he met because if that were the case she would have ruined him for all other Dals!  She was a very special girl.  She really did teach Charlie how to navigate the world.

My Daisy girl.  She was one very special beagle.  Well, she probably was a beagle mix with something.  I always thought of her as my junkyard dog – one of those little scrappy dogs that are so resilient – that was my girl. No matter what life threw at her she had a fantastic attitude and kept on going.

There may be other dogs that pop in and out, but these are the core dogs that you will see in this blog.  Over the coming months I will repost some of the archives from the past and add some new material.    Please be patient as we get the blog back up and running.
